FAQs

What should I wear for a hiking tour?

If your tour includes hiking, please wear hiking boots or good walking/running shoes.  No sandals or flip flops please. Already on vacation and don't have anything suitable? Let us know and we'll do our best to get you kitted out.

Dressing in layers is recommended, particularly for walking tours.

Tours run rain or shine so a waterproof/rain jacket is useful in the fall/winter.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen and insect repellent in the summer months.

Water - Beyond the City Tours aims to operate in an environmentally sensitive way. In line with this policy, we do not provide single use plastic water bottles. We will provide water in a cooler and you're welcome to bring your own reusable bottle to refill or borrow or purchase one of ours.

Weather

The Victoria area has a mild climate and our summers are usually warm and dry. Rain is always a possibility and tours run rain or shine. You can check the weather conditions for your tour date here.

Families

All of our tours are family-friendly and can be tailored to families travelling with young children. We can provide child car safety seats and a backpack style or soft carrier (Ergo) for hiking with little ones.
